Diabetes is a complex health issue characterized by the accumulation of excess body fat, and it is associated with an increased risk of various chronic conditions, including cardiovascular disease, certain cancers and kidney disease. The diabetes epidemic has become a major public health concern due to its impact on individuals’ health, healthcare systems, and economies.
As a physician who is board certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism as well as lifestyle medicine. Dr. Bouhairie and her staff will provide the expert support and education you need for self empowerment for disease control and remission when possible.
The program will involve:
Two intake visits to establish the patient-physician relationship, health risk assessment, comprehensive lifestyle and weight history, as well as personalized patient driven decision-making and provider motivational interviewing. The patient will also be prescribed weight management medications if needed at this time.
Each visit provides knowledge, skills, patient education and support for people with diabetes. The goal of these interactive individual or group sessions is to provide a safe and supportive environment for people with diabetes to share their experiences and acquire long-term skills to manage their disease, achieve remission when possible and improve their overall health. Currently, the shared visits are completely conducted virtually via Zoom.

Upon completion of the program, a follow-up medical visit is provided to reassess labs, manage medications and provide a tailored maintenance plan for your specific condition.
