Dr. Victoria Bouhairie

Dr. Victoria Bouhairie is a Medical Doctor, who is double board certified in Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes as well as Lifestyle Medicine. She also has a special interest in Culinary medicine and is on the path to certification. She was born in Atlanta, GA and grew up in Ghana, West Africa. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a dual major in Biology and Chemistry. She then completed a postbaccalaureate research year sponsored by the National Institutes of Health at Duke University. She earned her medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, completed her residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago and received her training in Endocrinology at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Bouhairie has over fifteen years of experience and gained rich experience in endocrine-related and diabetes care under world experts. During her fellowship, she was involved with multiple industries and NIH studies in diabetes care.

She also received multiple awards including Advanced Diabetes Management for the Endocrine Fellow and the American Diabetes Association Focus on Fellows Travel Award. She has published in peer-reviewed medical journals, authored book chapters, written articles in various diabetes-related magazines and has also given talks at conferences related to diabetes care and other endocrinology-related diseases. Dr. Bouhairie has also served as a subject matter expert for multiple healthcare companies and firms.

Her specific clinical interests are in diabetes and obesity management, prevention, and remission. With her interest in culinary medicine and diverse roots, she is able to understand the cultural diversity and importance of accessing, cooking and eating high-quality meals that are specific to the interests and traditions of those she is treating. Her goal is to use this passion to help prevent and treat disease and restore well-being. Dr Bouhairie views the relationship with her patients as a partnership using her expertise to search for the root causes of what is creating symptoms, provide patient education and ensure everyone gets equal quality healthcare.

Dr. Bouhairie lives in Charlotte, NC with her husband, three children and their dog. She loves cooking, listening to jazz music, volunteering, travelling, learning about different cultures and their food, and socializing with family and friends.
